ABOUT THE CITY
Meerut, the city of Mangal Pandey, is a famous historical city from which indeed the 1857 Indian Independence Drive started. It is the 16th largest metropolitan area and the 25th largest city in the nation. It is also an ancient city, known as the birth place of Maharani Mandodari of the Ramayana epic, located 56 km north-east of New Delhi. Meerut also has one of the largest army garrisons, cantonments in the country. It is famous for its scissors and Gazak. Meerut is also the sports capital of India. The city of Meerut is a centre for technical education with over 25 colleges of engineering and technology.
ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
MIET, located in the National Capital Region, is one of the oldest self-financed Engineering Institutions in Uttar Pradesh and also one of the best. MIET is now declared a STAR PERFORMER (an Academic Excellence Award by UPTU). Like a true leader, it has taken several initiatives in the field of technical education that are being followed by other Institutions across the state now. It is a privilege to say that MIET was the earliest to introduce the B.Tech. course in Information Technology, demonstrating farsightedness on the technological needs of the nation. MIET has an intensive academic environment aimed at bringing out the best out of the students. It lays claim to the finest faculty in the region, offers the best laboratory infrastructure, excellent hostels, mess facilities and promotes several extra-curricular activities. It also has a well stocked library in the state with over 86,000 volumes and subscribes to a number of National and International journals.

ABSTRACT
The separation of mixtures using semi-permeable membrane has been the subject of continuing interest in the last few decades. Although separation process using membrane have been used for long time, it is only recently that significant research in this field has led to important developments, one such development is the liquid emulsion membrane. It is effective for extraction of hydrocarbons and bio-substance from dilute aqueous solution. Liquid membrane possess a number of advantages for use in industrial separations include versatility a great variety of separations can be achieved non dependence on equilibrium considerations substances can be extracted against large concentration gradients and relative low cost compared to other membrane systems. Since our last reviews, a number of new developments have been reported in the areas of wastewater cleanup, hydrometallurgy and well control fluids and the use of liquid membranes as chemical “reactors”.
The emulsion liquid membrane separation technique is applied for extraction of metal ions for e.g. enrichment of nickel and removal of toxins from blood in case of lever failure.
Many kinds of industries such as textile industries, polymer industries and diverse fields such as biomedical engineering are making use of separation techniques.
Keywords: Membrane separation; current research; liquid emulsion membrane.
DATA MINING

ABSTRACT
This paper deals with concept of DATA MINING. Data mining is the semi-automatic extraction of significant patterns , changes , associations and other statistically significant structures from large data sets that search for relationships and global patterns that exist in large databases. A data mining tool should unearth hidden predictive information from large database automatically. By this definition data mining is data-driven, not user-driven or verification-driven. There is more and more digital data being collected, processed, managed and archived every day. Algorithms, software tools, and systems to mine it are critical to a wide variety of problems in business , science , national defense, engineering, and health care.
From a business perspective, data mining's roots are in direct marketing and financial services. From a technical perspective, data mining is beginning to emerge as a separate discipline with roots in a) statistics b) machine learning c) databases and d) high performance computing.
Applications of data mining includes fraud detection, credit card scoring and acquisition , risk management , web mining , enhance customer relations, direct marketing, trend analysis, financial market forecasting , international criminal investigations and personal profile marketing. Exotic Artificial Intelligence-based systems are also being touted as new data mining tools. In this way , the paper highlights the concept of data mining, which search for ever-increasing mountains of information.
E-COMMERCE

ABSTRACT:
In this paper we discuss a modern business methodology that addresses the need of organizations to cut costs while improving the quality of services and increasing the speed of service delivery. E-commerce describes a new approach to perform traditional functions like funds transfer, invoicing, e-catalogs, advertising, marketing & customer support functions.
This happened when corporates started seeing the Internet as weapon through which they can reach beyond their origins of their limited markets within fraction of seconds. The emergence of e-Commerce created the hope for entirely new sales and distribution channel options that radically improved levels of customer support at much lower costs. Once commercial purpose of web got greater momentum, e-commerce played a vital role in mobilizing things faster.
Thus explosive growth in E-commerce is fueling a new wave in business environment through which marketing of goods have become easier than ever.
INTERNET SECURITY
1:00 PM Posted by ~: Suraj :~
ABSTRACT
In this age of universal Internet world, of viruses and hackers, of electronic fraud network security has assumed increasing importance. Security is a broad topic and covers a multitude of sins. It is concerned with making sure that nosy people can’t read, or even worse secretly modify messages intended for other recipients.
The need of security arises when unscrupulous competitors, masqueraders, crackers & whackers break up into a system intentionally for their benefits or to harm someone.
In this paper, we concern with how trusted computers be connected safely to an untrustworthy network. Absolute protection of information from malicious abuse is not possible, however computer networks provide provisions such as Intrusion Detection Systems, Firewalls, Cryptography, Virtual Private Networks, Public and Private Key Algorithms, Bluetooth etc.
So the network security is somewhat misleading, because virtually all businesses, Government and academic organizations interconnect their data processing equipment with a collection of interconnected networks.
